ENGLISH VERSION
A recipe that’s perfect after the Easter holidays, because it helps you „recycle” leftover sweet bread into a super delicious dessert :) Sweet bread pudding. I know it’s not pretty, my husband even said it looks disgusting, but I really wanted to publish the recipe because the taste is amazing :) It’s a combination of sweet bread/custard/french toast, yummy! :)
Ingredients:
- 350 g leftover sweet bread
- 4 eggs
- 500 ml milk
- 150 g brown sugar (or favorite sweetener)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp rum or rum essence
- zest of 1 lemon
- 30 g butter (for greasing the dish)
Cut the sweet bread into small pieces and put them in a large bowl. Separately beat the whole eggs and sugar until they double in size, then add the milk, vanilla and rum.
Pour this mixture over the sweet bread, add the lemon zest and mix everything well. Grease a round pan with butter, pour the mixture and bake in the preheated oven at 170 C for about 45 min, until the topping is nicely golden and crisp.
Let cool at room temperature, then place in the fridge for 1-2 hours. Once completely set, flip and slice. Enjoy! :)
