Pofta mare!

Folositi o miere fluida, nezaharisita.

ENGLISH VERSION

I really love baking a treat during weekends for my family, it’s so nice to cook with your loved ones :) Today I made, with help from Ilinca, some really tender honey crescents, slightly sweetened, with a wonderful hint of cinnamon, great for toddlers. You can fill them with plum sugar free jam, ground walnuts, I made them in 3 ways: plain, with sugar free jam filling and Turkish delight filling :)

Ingredients (30 pcs):

  • 200 g butter
  • 250 g all purpose flour + extra for kneading
  • 50 g almond meal
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1-2 tbsp cold water
  • Filling: jam, Turkish delight, ground walnuts etc

Mix the butter cut into cubes with the flour, almond meal and rest of the ingredients, until a ball of dough form. Transfer on a surface dusted with flour and knead until soft and smooth. Wrap in clingfilm and place in the fridge for 2-3 hours or better until the next day.

Take the dough out of the fridge 30 min before preparing the crescents. Knead it until it softens on a powdered surface, then roll into 18-20 cm circles; I used a round baking pan to make the circles.

Cut into 8 triangles, add the filling and roll them, then transfer on a tray lined with baking paper. Bake them in the preheated oven at 180 for 2-30 min, depending on their size, until they turn golden. Enjoy!

*The almond meal is optional, but it gives the crescents a really nice taste, substitute with all purpose flour if you want. Use a runny honey.
