ENGLISH VERSION
I’ve go the best homemade pretzel recipe for you, I really had no idea you can make them so easily at home. They’re so tasty that my husband warned me he’ll ask me to make them very often :)) I think they are even greater with grated Parmesan on top :)
Ingredients (8 big pretzels):
- 500 g plain flour
- 300 ml lukewarm water
- 10 g dry yeast (1 sachet)
- 3 tbsp olive oil +3 tbsp for the topping
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- topping: salt, poppy/sesame seeds
- 2 L water
- 50 g baking soda
Mix the yeast, lukewarm water, sugar and 3 tablespoons of flour. Let it all sit for 15 min, until bubbly :) Gradually add the flour, kneading everyhtign well, by hand or with a stand mixer (hook attachment).
When you’ve added half the flour quantity, add the olive oil and salt. keep kneading for abut 12-15 min by hand or 7-8 min with a stand mixer, until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place it in a bowl greased with a little oil and wrap it in clingfilm, let it sit for 1 hour or until it’s doubled it’s size.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces, take a piece and roll it into a long and thin „sausage” :) Twist the ends and fold it over into a pretzel shape, do he same with all the other pieces.
Dip each pretzel into boiling water+baking soda, let them boil for 1 min, then carefully place them on a tray lined with baking paper. Grease all the pretzels with olive oil and sprinkle salt and seeds on them. bake them for 15-17 min at high heat (220 C), until they nice and golden. They’re so yummy! :)
