ENGLISH VERSION

A perfect finger food for toddlers and not only: baked potato balls crisp on the outside and soft in the center, everyone will love them :) They make an excellent appetizer at parties, but also a great idea for leftover mashed potatoes, to reduce food waste :)

Dough:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 70 g grated cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • a couple of dill threads

Topping:

  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika

Boil the potatoes, then mash them with a fork, adding a couple of tbsp of the water they boiled in. Let them chill completely, best overnight. When chilled enough,  mix them with the cheese, chopped dill and garlic powder. Mold golf size balls, the kids can help you with that :)

Combine the breadcrumbs with the sweet paprika and start making the balls. Roll each ball into the flour, egg and breadcrumb mix, in thus order. Place the balls on a try lined with baking paper and bake at 200 C for 17 min, until nicely golden. I got 24 balls :) Enjoy!
