Ingrediente (2 portii):
- 4 felii mari de paine
- 2 oua
- 1 lg unt* topit
- 100ml lapte*
- 1/4 lgt scortisoara
- 1/4 lgt extract de vanilie
- 1-2 lg sirop de artar (optional)*
- fructe pentru servit
Batem bine ouale, adaugam apoi laptele, untul topit, scortisoara si vanilia, omogenizam bine tot.
Pofta mare! :)
*Note: in caz de intoleranta la lactoza folositi ulei de cocos in loc de unt si un lapte vegetal (de migdale de exemplu). Omiteti indulcitorul pentru copii mici.
ENGLISH VERSION
Since I got my waffle maker I keep convincing myself it wasn’t a waste of money, it’s super useful! :) Today I discovered you can make French toast using a waffle maker, which is great since I am not a fan of deep oil frying :D Do try these, you’ll thank me :) Besides being super delicious, they’re also a great idea to save some old bread.
Ingredients (2 slices):
- 4 large bread slices
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp melted butter*
- 100 ml milk*
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)*
- fruit for serving
Whisk the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, cinnamon and vanilla. You can do this with a blender. Dip the bread slices in this mixture and let them rest on a tray for 2-3 min, to soak well. I used white bread and wholewheat bread with seeds, for my husband an I :)
Place the bread slices in the waffle maker, drizzle some of the left liquid over them to get them very moist. Let the waffle maker do it’s thing for 3-5 min, until they are golden enough. Serve warm with fresh fruit. Enjoy!
