Anul acesta dam skip la sejurul in Grecia din motive „covidente” :)) Dar putem sa ne bucuram de preparate grecesti si la noi acasa, cu ingredientele si condimentele potrivite. Aceste frigarui grecesti cu pui sunt super suculente si aromate, merg la fix cu o salata greceascas sau doar de rosii, sos Tzatziki, masline Kalamata, pita, mmmm…. Noi le-am savurat cu cartofi copti cu smantana si salata de rosii gustoase de vara. I love summer! :)

Ingrediente (10 buc):

  • 2 bucati de piept de pui
  • 300g iaurt grecesc
  • zeama de la 1 lamaie
  • 3 lg ulei de masline
  • 3 catei de usturoi
  • 1 lg otet din cidru de mere
  • cimbru, oregano
  • 1 lgt sare*
  • 2 cepe
  • 3 ardei capia
  • 150g rosii cherry
  • bete pentru frigarui

Pentru marinada punem intr-un bol: iaurtul grecesc, uleiul de masline, sucul de lamaie, otetul, sarea, cimbru si oregano tocate, catei de usturoi pisati. Asezam carnea de pui in acest amestec, o mozolim bine, acoperim bolul cu folie si il introducem la frigider minim 4 ore.

Pentru frigarui tocam bucati potrivite ceapa si ardeiul. Tocam puiul cubulete si il mozolim prin marinada (mi-am dat seama tarziu ca era mai bine sa tai carnea intai, apoi sa o marinez, oh well, dar au iesit bune si asa :)

Asamblam frigaruile alternand bucatile de pui cu cele de legume si gatim frigaruile pe gratar pe toate partile pana se rumenesc frumos, cam 3-4 min pe fiecare parte, dar asta e treaba iubitului meu, el e expertul in gratare :) Pofta mare!

Baby-friendly: folositi foarte putina sare doar dupa varsta de 1 an.

We are skipping Greece this year for COVID reasons, but we can enjoy some Greek dishes in our own kitchen with a good recipe and selection of ingredients :) These Greek chicken skewers are so juicy and packed with flavor, they go just great with Greek salad, Tzatziki dip, Kalamata olives, mmm. We ate them with baked potatoes, sour cream and tasty tomato salad. I love summer! :)

Ingredients (10 pcs):

  • 2 chicken breast
  • 300g Greek yogurt
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • thyme, oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 red onions
  • 3 red peppers
  • 150 g cherry tomatoes
  • bamboo skewers

For the marinade combine the Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, chopped thyme and oregano, mashed garlic, salt. Place the chicken breasts in the marinade, cover with cling film and place in the fridge to marinate for about 4 hours.

For the skewer chop the peppers and onions into medium chunks. Chop the chicken breasts (I realized late that it would have been better to marinate the meat after cutting into pieces, but oh well, it was delicious like that, to :)

Assemble the skewers by alternating the chicken meat and the veggies, then grill for about 3-4 min on each side until lovely browned like in the pics, PS. – my husband is in charge of the grill, he’s the expert :) Enjoy!
