E o mare dilema pentru mine de ce majoritatea restaurantelor ofera ca meniu special pentru copii snitel si cascaval pane cu cartofi prajiti… Anyway, eu acasa cel putin incerc o varianta mai sanatoasa, si anume snitele preparate la cuptor in crusta de fulgi de porumb. Sunt super bune, crocante, perfecte pentru intreaga familie si arata mai bine ca la KFC :)

Ingrediente (12 buc):

  • 2 bucati de piept de pui
  • 100g fulgi de porumb fara zahar
  • 1 lgt pudra de usturoi
  • 1/2 lgt boia dulce
  • 2 oua
  • 2 lg ulei de masline (pt pulverizat)
  • 5 lg faina (de ovaz)*

Taiem pieptul de pui in fasii relativ egale si groase cam de 2 cm, batem ouale. Separat maruntim in blender fulgii de porumb si ii amestecam cu pudra de usturoi, boia si puutin piper.

Dam fiecare fasie de carne prin: 1. faina, 2. amestecul de oua, 3. toppingul din fulgi de porumb. Asezam bucatile pe o tava tapetata cu hartie de copt, pulverizam putin ulei cu un spray uniform peste ele.

Coacem snitelele aprox 30-40 de min in cuptorul preincalzit la 190C, cu ventilatia pornita in ultimele 15 min, ochiometric pana se rumenesc frumos.

Noi le-am servit cu smantana si cartofi prajiti la Airfryer, dar merg bineinteles si cu cartofi copti :) Pofta mare!

*Note: Puteti folosi o faina fara gluten, pentru persoanele cu intoleranta la gluten sau boala celiaca. Folositi piper cu masura la cei copii, este un condiment puternic si iritant gastric.

ENGLISH VERSION

I’ve always wondered why restaurant offer as children friendly menus french fries and fried chicken or fried cheese… Anyway, I try to make a healthier version at home: oven baked cornflake crispy strips. They’re super delicious, crunchy and look even better than KFC :)

Ingredients (12 pcs):

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 100 g sugar-free corn flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for spraying)
  • 5 tbsp (oat) flour*

Cut the chicken into even 2 cm thick strips. Whisk the eggs, ground the corn flakes using a small chopper, then mix them with the garlic, paprika and a pinch of pepper.Dip every chicken strip into 1. flour, 2 egg mixture 3. cornflakes mix.

Place the strips on a tray lined with baking paper, spray them with a little oil. Then bake at 190 C for 30-40 min, with the ventilation on in the last 15 min. We served them with sour cream and Air-fried french fries, but baked potatoes also work :) Enjoy!

*Notes: Use gluten free flour for a 100% gluten-free version. Use very little pepper for children, it’s a powerful spice.
